Fortune Cookies with Real Fortunes
Two real fortunes, in fortune cookies from the local strip mall Thai and Chinese restaurant.

In another famous victory, both contain references to the future, and therefore can be classified as “fortunes”, and not “compliments” or “advice” or “vague, pseudo-asian mysticism”.
For the record, the paper slips read:
- A pleasant surprise is in store for you.
- Your success story is in your future.
These are anodyne fortunes, not even rising to the level of “cold read”. If they didn’t refer to the future, I wouldn’t write a post about them.
Due to their very generic nature, I’m sure they’ll come true. If I find some thin mints in the freezer in a week, I’ll consider that I’ve had a pleasant surprise, and the fortune fulfilled. I think that the nature of human memory ensure that my success story does indeed lie in my future. Memories of past triumphs fade. Any new good luck, victory, or success will fulfill fortune #2.

Your success story is not written on the web
I couldn’t find any other instances of Your success story is in your future. Not even Harry Millner touched this one.
